A unique wine made from the rare local grape variety Kéknyelű!
The indigenous, rare white grape variety Kéknyelű is now only cultivated on less than 50 hectares, most of which are in its homeland, the Badacsony volcano. It used to be called the vineyard of the aristocrats because its care is time-consuming and labor-intensive and it is also a notoriously low-yielding variety. Since it only has female flowers, it is planted alternately with its pair of stamens, the Rózsakő, on the plantation.
The Kéknyelü from Szászis shows the variety its truly beautiful face: fresh, spring-like flowers dominate the scent, peaches and citrus fruits in the bone-dry, meaningful sip, vibrant minerality, terroir emphasis. The Kéknyelü fermented spontaneously in tanks, then it was aged for 3 months in 1-2 year old 500 litre oak barrels.
