Csóka (=jackdaw) is a true rarity!
This native Csóka grape has practically disappeared in Hungary. Due to the unique nature of the grape variety, the Vylyan Winery decided to save it and reintroduce it to their estate. In the spring of 2004, they launched an interesting experiment with the Research Institute of Viticulture and Oenology in Pécs, and now they are the proud owners of 4,000 vines!
Dried sour cherry and cool, urban aroma and flavor notes are simultaneously present. The truly silky acidity and reflective, velvety tannins are reminiscent of the Burgundian world.
