A top Syrah from Villány!
Blackberries and pepper. Rich aromas of blackberry juice, violets, and freshly ground black pepper. A juicy and easy-drinking style with plenty of freshness, ripe blackberry flavor, and pleasant spice. The aftertaste is clove-like, vibrantly fruity, and fresh.
The Year 2022
Surprisingly fresh and aromatic wines after a warm and dry vintage. Interestingly, the 2022 vintage began cold, with late bud break. By the end of May, it was clear that it would be very hot after a cold vintage. There was no rain in the summer, which made ripening the grapes somewhat difficult. The cold and rainy September saved the red wines, bringing freshness back to the otherwise dry and warm vintage, thus producing fresh and rich wines.
Vineyard
This Syrah comes exclusively from the harvest of the Csukma vineyard, a true hidden gem. Located in the cooler area of Siklós, Csukma produces grapes exclusively based on premium wines: The perfect southern exposure and high altitude create a special microclimate where the red grapes feel at home. In this vineyard, we plan to plant only Bordeaux varieties and Syrah.
