A beautiful light ruby red in the glass, with intense aromas of cherries and ripe blueberries on the nose, with classic spicy-floral notes of cloves, allspice, and violets. Crisp on the palate, bright acidity with black and red cherries and cocoa beans. A straightforward and elegant Kadarka, an exciting example of a spicy and refreshing red wine with low tannins, which is a rather rare occurrence—especially from Villány.
The Year 2022
Interestingly, the 2022 vintage began cold with late bud break. By the end of May, it was clear that instead of a cold vintage, it would be very warm, and the lack of precipitation in the summer made ripening difficult for the grapes. The cold and rainy September saved the red wine vintage and brought freshness back to an otherwise dry and warm year, resulting in fresh and rich wines.
The Vineyard
A single-vineyard selection from the legendary Ördögárok winery. The Devil's Ditch, located in the hottest part of Villány, is named for its unique shape and its excellent heat retention.
