The taste experience of the 2019 Onyx has been significantly improved compared to its predecessor from 2015. The Onyx has now even moved up to the Villány Premium OEM category.
With its deep ruby color, the wine offers an inviting aroma of ripe black fruits such as blackcurrant and plum, complemented by subtle spices and a hint of vanilla from oak barrel aging. On the palate, it is rich, velvety, and well-balanced, with smooth tannins and a long, elegant finish.
'Arpensis' is an old Roman area measure. In Villány, at the foot of Szársomlyó, we found this old measure engraved on the altar stone of a richly mosaic-decorated Roman villa. According to the inscription, the lord of the estate, Venatus, planted 400 arpensis (approx. 45 hectares) of vines here 2000 years ago with the help of his son."
